{"id":195,"date":"2014-04-07T12:55:56","date_gmt":"2014-04-07T12:55:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/xxx.ngo.lv\/?page_id=195"},"modified":"2014-05-13T10:27:08","modified_gmt":"2014-05-13T10:27:08","slug":"2003-2","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/network.ngo.lv\/?page_id=195","title":{"rendered":"2003"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Training Course \u201cHuman Rights and Participation of Minority Youth in Multicultural Societies\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p>8 &#8211; 14 August 2003, Latvia<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Minority youth leaders from Germany, Norway, Finland, Russia, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania participated in the training course devoted to human rights education and equal participation. During seven days young people learned and discussed human rights, human rights education, gender equality issues, intercultural learning and other questions.<\/p>\n<p>The main aims of the project were:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To familiarise youth leaders and activists with human rights and train in methods of human rights education;<\/li>\n<li>To empower minority leaders to effectively deal with conflict situation from an intercultural dimension, especially in minority-majority relations;<\/li>\n<li>To exchange experience and realities of individual minority groups concerning minority rights observance, cases of racism and intolerance;<\/li>\n<li>To train minority youth leaders in quality principles and methods of minority youth work.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The programme of the training course included: exchange of experience of participants; lectures about human rights, human rights education, gender equality, intercultural learning and rights of minorities; presentations. Two presentations were made: one of human rights education manual \u201cCompass\u201d and another one about international programme \u201cYouth\u201d; skills workshops \u201cProject management\u201d and \u201cTeam building\u201d were offered to participants in order to improve their knowledge and abilities to manage project and work in and with team; games.
